Bolstered at least a dozen veterans and eight new players, the Erie Illusion Women's Football Team is gearing up for two final fall tryouts and a mini-camp to prepare for it's 2007 season in the National Women's Football Association.
Two earlier weekends of open tryouts allowed Illusion Head Coach Keith
Ludwig to add the eight new women to his team. Ludwig hopes tryouts on
Sun. Oct. 8 and Saturday Oct. 28 will help round out his roster as he
prepares for the team's first full practice on Sun. Oct. 29.
At least five roster spots still remain open on the Erie team. Ludwig
encourages any women interested in competing this season to attend either
of the tryout sessions, which will be conducted at Erie's Bayview Park
on 2nd & Cherry streets. Sunday's tryout runs from 1 to 3 p.m., and
on Sat. Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. until Noon. Women interested in attending
the tryouts must be at least 18 years old and have proof of insurance.
The full Illusion squad will begin it's fall mini-camp at 1 p.m. on Sun.
Oct. 29 at Bayview Park.
Erie will kick-off it's Fifth Anniversary Season in the N.W.F.A., the
world's largest and most successful full-contact women's football league
in April 2007. Additional information about the N.W.F.A. is available
