Team Photographer Featured at TREC ExhibitJanuary 9, 2007
Capturing the images of the Erie Illusion Women’s Football Team in action is more than just another assignment for Art Becker, on of the Erie region’s premier photographers – It’s something he looks forward to.
“They’re a great subject matter. They have a lot of personality that I really enjoy being around,” said Becker, who this season will spend his fourth year patrolling the Illusion sidelines with his camera. “They’re just a lot of fun. And I’ve learned a lot of things from them,” he added.
Becker is an Erie native who boasts 25 years experience as a photographer. His talents can be seen through his wide array of subject matter. “I like to say that I try to bridge the gap between fine and commercial art,” Becker said.
Along with his character filled images on Illusion literature, posters and team website, Becker’s images are currently featured at “The Gallery,” Nature Shop inside the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, 301 Peninsula Dr. Becker describes his works on display as a “collection of landscapes associated with nature.” Becker’s images, along with those of several other local artists, can be viewed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily until Feb. 10 at the TREC.
